I will never forget when my first book went viral…
It was a cold, icy night in November when I went to Amazon to check on my sales. I sat there in shock, watching the numbers change like popcorn popping, as hundreds of thousands of people downloaded my book, Forty-Four. I remember that the excitement I was feeling in my chest and stomach was so intense that I was shaking as I held my laptop. I just sat there for an hour, staring at the screen in disbelief.
I knew things were going to change forever that night.
And I was right.
Going viral, i.e. having hundreds of thousands of people downloading my eBook, launched my writing career and for the next few years I was one of those elusive Six-Figure-a-Year Authors. Not only was I making a great living, but suddenly people from all over were writing to me, thanking me for my work.
It was a hell of a thing.
Me, living in Bend, Oregon, writing words that reached so many people from all over the world.
That feeling I will never forget.
I love writing and have written over 20 best-selling books in the last decade, in addition to running my own publishing company.
But I also love teaching.
In fact, that’s where my career started. In the classroom, helping students of all ages (fourth grade through college freshmen) write.
